Adel & Wharfedale have an active Labour Party Branch whose members are incredibly keen in campaigning for local issues on behalf of residents in the area. The branch is part of a large foodbank collection network which provides much-needed aid to The Trussell Trust.

Also, within the ward are three parish councils which are: Bramhope & Carlton, Pool-in-Wharfedale and Arthington.
